As soon as he has retired from his temporary seat on the Council I propose to ask you to confirm the re-appointment of Mr. Badeley, who may, however, be again required to resign his seat upon the return to the Colony of Mr. A. W. Brewin, absent on leave.
In these circumstances, I have refrained from taking any action in connection with your Despatch No. 188 of the 20th ultimo.
